APRIL - MAY , 2008 WORSHIP LEADERS SCHEDULE
All Services are at 10:00 A.M.
Sunday April 06 – Every first Sunday of the month t he Reverend Doctor Gordon Turner is our monthly worship leader. He is a retired Senior Minister of St. Andrew's-Wesley Church in Vancouver . Gord was the originator of Jazz Vespers in Canada (1972) and the founder of Jazz Vespers in Vancouver (1992) (Longest Current Running Jazz Services in the World). He will be joined this Sunday by his wife, Linda, who is preaching on “Protecting the Priceless Earth: Lessons from the Magdalene Stories” . Service will include the Celebration of Eucharist.
Sunday April 13 – Pastor Tim Dutcher-Walls is our worship leader generally on every second Sunday of the month. He is also a director on the Whistler Village Church Board, and the pastor for Faith Lutheran Church in Burnaby . We look forward to his leading our service for this Fourth Sunday of Easter. Service will include the Celebration of Eucharist.
Sunday April 20 – The Reverend Charles Lenz will lead our service for this Fifth Sunday of Easter. Although Charlie was ordained in the Anglican Church, his current focus is as a trained Intentional Interim Minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church . Charlie is semi-retired after 25 years of service in three congregations (one in Central Yukon and two in New Westminster Diocese). In addition Charlie has developed and currently runs a small business, Personal Support Services, which focuses on bereavement, marriage, pastoral counselling and coaching for individuals and families. Charlie leads our service on every third Sunday of the month.
Sunday April 27 – Christine Abbot is a candidate for ordained ministry and leads our service every last Sunday of the month. She has worked at a variety of churches in the Lower Mainland, most recently at Ellesmere United at Simon Fraser University and at University Hill Congregation at the University of British Columbia . Christine has worked in many capacities within presbytery and youth & young adult networks. Christine formerly was the Chair of Fraser Presbytery. She will be our worship leader for this Sixth Sunday of Easter.
Sunday May 04 – T he Reverend Doctor Gordon Turner returns to lead our Ascension of the Lord service which will include the Celebration of Eucharist.
Sunday May 11 – Pastor Don Johnson, a retired Evangelical Lutheran minister, is very familiar to many of us. Don was a member of the Oversight Steering Committee that helped establish Whistler Village Church and he frequently leads us in worship. The Day of Pentecost service will include the Celebration of Eucharist.
Sunday May 18 – The Reverend Charles Lenz returns to lead our Trinity Sunday service.
Sunday May 25 – Christine Abbot returns to lead our service for the Second Sunday after Pentecost.
